Unbelievable!

Can't get over this snow!! Another near-foot of the white stuff has fallen all over Asheville. I hope our guests in the cottages at this moment are snuggled up, warm & cozy... and that this time we won't lose power!!

What do JANUARY rains bring?

If April rains bring May flowers, apparently, January rain brings flooding. The boys and I saw two rainbows on the way to school this morning! Driving to the Cottages, I saw the road by the French Broad River was VERY WET -- turns out, the waters must have surged over the banks at some point in the last few hours! A beautiful, powerful sight...and a little scary! (Not to worry; the cottages are on higher ground!)

Warming Up Soon

Wednesday promises warmer weather (by "warm" they mean "above freezing") -- great time to get out & hike. I'm always sad to see trees stripped of their leaves, but it DOES allow more visibility!

Off & running!

This is the first blog I've ever begun! I'm hoping to attract travelers to this, my favorite area in the world: the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina! More specifically, I hope to introduce people to a beautiful place to stay when you're here: Asheville Cottages. These are family-owned, luxurious cabins with all the amenities -- from romantic (hot tub, gas fireplace) to fun-loving (Wii rentals available)! Check out the website at http://www.ashevillecottages.com/

If you are a fan of Asheville Cottages too, please leave some comments!
